5 MAINTENANCE AND LUBRICATION
5.5 ENGINE COOLANT _____________________________________________________
Check coolant level each day. The radiator must be full and the recovery bottle must be at the cold mark.
Drain and fill the cooling system in line with the Maintenance chart. Empty and clean the recovery bottle.
Mix clean water with anti-freeze for the coldest ambient temperature. Read and follow the instructions on the
anti-freeze container and the Engine manual.
Keep the radiator, engine oil cooler and hydraulic oil cooler air passages clean. Use a compressed air line
(maximum of 30 psi (2 BAR)) to clean the fins. Open the panel below the radiator to allow dirt and grass to fall
from the frame.
Check and tighten the engine fan belt in line with the Maintenance chart and replace the belt and replace the
clamps and hoses in line with the Maintenance chart.
If the coolant level falls continuously or you add a litre at a time, refer to a RJL Dealer for a cooling system check.
WARNING
The coolant system is a pressure type, to prevent injury never remove the radiator cap with the engine
in operation. Stop the engine and wait until the radiator is cool.
CAUTION
Do not put cold coolant mixture into a hot radiator. Do not operate the engine without a correct
coolant mixture. Install the radiator cap correctly.
CAUTION
Stop the Engine and Remove the Starter Key Before You Use a Pressure Washer. Do not use a
pressure washer near the instrument panel or the Engine radiator to prevent damage.
