Section 4 Fill Procedure
• Remove the valve closing adapter from the cylinder valve.
• Remove the cylinder ll hose from the pump connection port. If the cylinder ll hose quick-connect
tting is dicult to remove, this indicates the cylinder ll hose is still under pressure. Repeat the above
steps to depressurize the cylinder ll hose.
• Disconnect the cylinder ll assembly from the ll adapter.
• Remove the ll adapter and immediately install the anti-recoil safety device into the cylinder discharge
outlet.
• Observe the weight displayed on the scale. Subtract from this weight the previously recorded empty
cylinder weight to determine the actual weight of the agent currently stored within the cylinder. e
actual weight of the agent should equal the intended ll weight. If the actual weight of the agent is
less than the intended ll weight, the agent ll procedure must be repeated. If the actual weight of the
agent is more than the intended ll weight, the overll retrieval procedure must be followed as detailed
below.
• If the intended agent ll weight has been achieved, record the agent weight in the appropriate location on
the cylinder label and ll log. Follow the steps outlined in Section 4.3 to superpressurize the cylinder.
4.2.3 OverllRetrievalProcedure
To retrieve agent from a cylinder assembly due to an overll, it will be necessary to open the cylinder valve.
Both a manual and electric valve actuator will be required for this purpose.
• Replace the anti-recoil safety device with the appropriate Series ll adapter for the cylinder assembly
being lled.
• Ensure that the ll pressure gauge is connected to the gauge connection port of the cylinder ll
assembly.
• Connect the cylinder connection port of the cylinder ll assembly to the male quick-connect tting of
the ll adapter. Ensure the manual agent ll valve of the cylinder ll assembly is in the closed position
before proceeding.
• Ensure that the agent supply tank hose of the ll station is connected to the liquid ll line of the agent
supply tank.
• Connect the cylinder ll hose of the ll station to the pump connection port of the cylinder ll
assembly.
• Open the supply tank liquid line valve.
• Set the direction of ow for the ll station towards the agent supply tank. Do this by setting the pump
selector knob to "recovery cylinder".
• Open the manual agent ll valve and set the ll station pump to a low speed using the pump control
knob.
