Stopping and Parking
General
WARNING Do not dismount a moving machine.
WARNING If the machine must temporarily be parked on a gradient, park the machine with the front pointing
uphill. Ensure that the machine is blocked by a fixed object.
WARNING An incorrectly parked machine can move without an operator. Follow the instructions in the
Operator's Manual to park the machine correctly.
CAUTION Entering or leaving the operator station must only be made where steps and handrails are
provided. Always face the machine when entering and leaving. Make sure the steps, handrails and your
boot soles are clean and dry. Do not jump from the machine. Do not use the machine controls as handholds,
only use the handrails.
Notice: The efficiency of the rams will be affected if they are not kept free of solidified dirt. Clean dirt from
around the rams regularly. When leaving or parking the machine, close all rams if possible to reduce the
risk of weather corrosion.
Notice: Do not suddenly stop the engine when it is running under a operating load. Instead allow it to
idle for a short period with no load so that the internal temperature falls slowly and coolant loss through
boiling is avoided.
1. Turn the vibration switch to the off position.
2. Stop the machine on solid, level ground where the machine will not be a hazard or danger.
3. Move the drive lever to the park brake position.
4. Make sure that the park brake indicator lights up.
5. Set the engine throttle control to the idle position.
6. Turn the ignition key to off position.
7. Leave and secure the machine:
7.1. If you are leaving the machine for a long period, make sure all switches are set to off. If necessary,
leave the hazard warning and/or side lights switched on.
7.2. Use the handholds and step when you climb down from the machine.
7.3. If available operate the battery cut off switch.
7.4. Make sure that the fuel filler cap is locked (if a lock is installed).
7.5. Lock the bonnet before leaving the machine.
8. Safeguard the machine against moving unintentionally by means of blocks.
