PLAYBACK PROBLEMS
Symptoms Check points
@ isthe TV receiver set to the correct mode?
See pages 39 and 40.
@ Press SPURLAGE buttons.
@ Video heads may be dirty.
— Head cleaning is necessary. Consult your JVC dealer.
Playback picture does not appear while
the tape is running.
Noise appears during playback.
Playback picture is blurred or inter-
rupted while TV broadcasts are clear.
HI-Fl AUDIO PROBLEMS
Symptoms Check points
@ Has the SIMUL button been pressed?
— Press it again so “SIM” no longer appears on the FDP.
@ Press the SPURLAGE buttons. (See page 46.)
@ Have you adjusted the recording level correctly?
— Over-level recordings could be a cause. Adjust the level correctly next time.

@ is the NORM indicator on the FDP lit?
— Press the AUDIO MIX button for L and R to light as required.
@ Is the PEGELANZEIGE switch set to a position other than EIN?
— Set it to EIN.
Check points
@ Move camera or microphone away from TV or reduce TV sound volume.
@ Those channels are preset to be skipped over. If you need them, restore them.

@ Is recording in progress?
— Press PAUSE/STANDB,, select a desired channel and press
WIEDERGABE/X2.
TV sound cannot be recorded on hi-fi
audio track.
Breaks are noticeable in hi-fi audio
reproduction.
Soundtrack on the hi-fi audio track
cannot be reproduced.
Audio level indicators do not
function.

Symptoms
Whistling or howling is heard from TV.
Some channels are skipped over when
selecting a channel.
Channel cannot be switched.
This recorder contains microcomputers. External electronic noise or interference could cause malfunctioning. In such cases,
switch the power off and unplug the power cord. Then plug it in again and swtich on. Take out the cassette. After checking
the cassette, operate the unit as usual.
I ; HEAD CLEANING
@Picture playback may become biurred or interrupted while
the TV programme received is clear. This does not mean
that the recorded programme has been erased.
@Dirt accumulated on the video heads after long periods of
use causes such problems. In this case, head cleaning re-
quiring highly technical care is necessary.
For head cleaning, constult the your JVC dealer. ]
