Assembling and disassembling the
battery
Mounting the batteries
Guide battery holder with the bent
side through the notches.
! Insert battery between the battery
holders
! Screw on the positive pole cable
! Slide the protection cover on the
positive pole
Screw on the negative pole cable.
Guide the ventilation hose through
the notch.
! Place on the battery cover
! Lead the battery holders through
and screw them down tight
Taking-out the batteries
When disassembling the battery, the
negative pole cable is unscrewed
before the positive pole cable.
Checking and topping-up the
battery acid level
Always heed safety precautions for
handling batteries!
! Unscrew cellular seals
! Draw a samble from each cell with
the battery hydrometer
! Return each acid sample to the
same cell
♦ At 20 °C, the acid of a fully-charged
battery has a specific weight of
1,28 kg/l.
♦ The acid of a partially-charged
battery has a specific weight
between 1,00 and 1,28 kg/l.
♦ The specific gravity of the
electrolyte must be the same in all
cells.
♦ Specific weight under 1,15 kg/l.
! If the battery acid level is too low,
top-up the cells with distilled water
until the top edge of the plates is
just covered with liquid
! Charge the battery until a specific
weight of 1,28 kg/l is reached
Charging the battery
♦ Always heed safety precautions for
handling batteries!
♦ Warranty is valid only when using
the batteries and charging units
stipulated by Kärcher.
♦ Charge the battery with smallest
possible current.
♦ It is essential to observe the
instructions provided by the
manufacturerer of the charging unit.
! Connect the negative pole cable of
the battery charger with the
negative pole connection of the
battery.
! Connect the positive pole cable of
the battery charger with the positive
pole connection of the battery.
! Switch on battery charger and
insert mains plug
