3-16 Configuring TCP/IP addresses Model 2701 Instrument Networking Instruction Manual
Not able to open the Model 2701
web page (continued).
Bad cable connection. Make sure that either the
Link/Act or 100bt LED near the Ethernet connector is
on and/or blinking (see
Table 1-1).
Problems with advanced display
adapter driver.
A common software glitch exists between some
network support software and advanced display adapter
software. If the network software does not operate
properly, try selecting the standard VGA driver in
Windows Setup (under the control panel). If this solves
the problem, try obtaining the latest version of the
drivers.
Unable to connect to 2701
(connected through corporate
LAN).
IP addresses that are assigned by the IS/IT department
may take a period of time before they are active. Check
with them as to when the IP address will become
active.
Network IDs may be different in different parts of the
corporate network (network design dependent). Make
sure you specifically tell the IS/IT where you are going
to connect the 2701 to the network as location may
determine the 2701’s correct subnet.
If you have an instrument connected to a router or a
switch, the MAC address is usually cached with the IP
address for a period of time. The router or switch will
not recognize the instrument if the IP address is
changed or if the cached IP address is assigned to a
different instrument. Contact your IS/IT department for
additional details about how the router/switch is con-
figured.
