Adjusting Throttle
Cable
To adjust the throttle ca ble free-play, follow this proce-
dure.
1.
Slid e th e rubb e r boot away; then loosen the jam nut
from
the throttle cable adjuster.
2.
Turn the idle adjus t ment s c rew clockwise one turn
past
the recommended RPM setti ng; then turn it
counterclockwise to 1250-1350 RPM.

Adjust the idle to the correct RPM. Make sure the
engine is
at normal operating temperature before
adjusting
the idle RPM.

2. Turn the adjuster until th e throttle cable has proper
free-play
of 3-6 mm (1/8-1/4 in.) at the lever.

3. T i ghten the jam nut ag ai nst the throttle cable
adjuster securely; then slide the rubber boot over
th e adjus te r.
Adjusting Engine
RPM (Idle)
To properly adjust the idle RPM, a tachometer is nec-
essary. To adjus t idle RPM, use the following proce-
dure.
NOTE: The idle adjustment screw is located on the
right-hand
side of the carburetor.
1. W ith the transmission in neutral, start the engine and
warm
it up to normal op erati ng temperature.

Oil - Filter - Strainer
OIL - FILTER
The e ng i ne should always be warm when the o il is
changed so the oi l will drain easily and completely.
1.
Park the ATV on le v el ground.
2.
Remove the seat and le ft-side engine cover.
3.
Remove the oil level stick/filler plug.
