StartingtheThinkServerEasyStartupprogram
ThistopicprovidesinstructionsonhowtostarttheThinkServerEasyStartupprogram.Afteryoustartthe
programandenterthemaininterface,clickUserGuidefordetailedinformationabouthowtousethis
programtohelpyouconguretheserverandinstallanoperatingsystem.
TostarttheThinkServerEasyStartupprogram,dothefollowing:
1.InserttheThinkServerEasyStartupDVDintoanopticaldrive,settheopticaldriveastherststartup
device,andstartyourserverfromtheDVDintheopticaldrive.See“Selectingastartupdevice”on
page64
.
2.Waitfortheprogramtoload.Then,youwillbepromptedforthefollowingselections:
•Thelanguageinwhichyouwanttoviewtheprogram
•Thelanguageofthekeyboardlayoutyouwillbeusingwiththeprogram
Note:ThesupportedlanguagesandkeyboardlayoutsfortheThinkServerEasyStartupprogramare
Dutch,English,French,German,Italian,Japanese,Russian,Spanish,andTurkish.YourThinkServer
EasyStartupDVDmightbeEnglishonly.Inthiscase,thekeyboardlayoutshouldbeEnglish.
3.Afterselectingthelanguageandkeyboardlayout,clickOK.Then,youwillseeoneormorereminders
ormessagesaboutconguringstoragedevices.ClickNextuntilyouarepresentedwiththeLenovo
LicenseAgreement.ReadtheLenovoLicenseAgreementcarefully.Inordertocontinue,youmust
acceptthetermsbyclickingAgree.Then,theDateandtimewindowopens.
4.SetthecurrentdateandtimeandclickOK.TheStartoptionwindowopens.
5.TheStartoptionwindowprovidesthefollowingselections:
•Continuetothemaininterface.
•Installtheoperatingsystemusingapre-existingresponsele.
•CongureRAIDusingapre-existingresponsele.
Readtheexplanationsonthescreenandselectadesiredoption.Then,followtheinstructionsonthe
screen.IfthisisthersttimeyouareusingtheThinkServerEasyStartupprogram,selecttheoptionto
