Television (if fitted)
Note
The Windows 95 video mode must be set to 256 colours for television.
As stated at the beginning of this chapter there are many and varied
facilities that can be added to your computer. One that is a popular
option and fitted to order in the factory is the Television card. It
enables you to receive broadcast television on your computer and
view it on your monitor. It also has many other features that are
covered in the Windows 95 icon ‘Apricot TV’ and its HELP.
The card, although fitted ready to use, will require tuning to the
correct broadcast frequencies for your area. A set-up screen for
this starts automatically the first time you switch on your
computer, to sort and configure your tuning and preferences, then
the HELP gives full details of how to change settings, passwords,
etc., in the future.
Information on one or two of the problems you may encounter is
given in the ‘Troubleshooting ‘ chapter.
Connections

2. Audio & Video IN (composite, from VCR for example.)
3. Video Loop cable connection (VGA, to Monitor port.)
4. Audio OUT (note, sound connected internally.)
5. RF (aerial) IN.
