fitting, and run
it

the

pin
part,
pointing
it downward.

the
fitting good and hard.

Fit
ball bearing
to
the
outer
end
of
each
differential shaft,
mount
pinion
(16T),
and
retain the pinion by installing circlip. The
ball bearing has a groove
cutin
the end
faces
of
its inner and
outer
races: be sure
to
position the bearing so
that
its grooved
end comes on inner side,
as
shown.

The
two
differential shafts are now com-
plete
with
bearings and pinions. Insert each
into
the axle housing.

Reassembling the gear case
and
final case
(I)
Insert bushing
into
final case.
(2) Grease oil seal and fit it carefully
to
final
case, making sure
that
the
seal is trued
up
in place.
(NOTE)
The
steel
part
of
this oil seal
is
so thin
that
the
seal itself
is
prone
to
distort
at
the time
of
its installation.
Apply
a push
evenly when fitting it.
(3) Insert the final-drive shaft in to gear case,
bringing its large-diameter end
to
top
side
and
fi
tting pinion
(16T)
on to the splined
end. Install inner race
of
upper
tapered
roller bearing,
as
shown.
