Accessories for the D40
At the time of writing, the following accessories were available for the D40. Up to date infor
marion is available at Nikon websites or from our latest product catalogs.
• EN-EL9rechargeable Li-ionbattery: Additional EN-EL9 batteries are available from local
retailers and Nikon service representatives.
Power
• EH-5ACadapter:Use to power the carnera for extended periods. EP-5 AC adapter connec-

• BF-1Abodycap:The BF-1A keeps the mirror, viewfinder screen, and low-pass filter free of
Bodycaps dust when a lens is not in place.

• ML-L3wirelessremote control:Use as a remote shutter release for self-portraits or to prevent
blur caused by camera shake. The MbL3 uses a 3V CR2505 battery.

Connecting the Optional EP-S AC Adapter Connector and EH-5 AC Adapter

3 Guide the power cord into the opening left by the power con

4 insert the EHSAC adapter plug into the EHSAC inlet (®) and connect the EHS DC
plug to tile EP5 DC in connector (@). When the camera is powered by tt]e AC
adapter,the battery level indicator in the monitor will show _.
