Flash Compensation
Flash compensation (available only in _ S,A, and iVlmodes) is used to alter flash output by
from 3 EVto +I EV in increments of %EV,changing the brightness of the main subject rela
tive to the background. Flash output can be increased to make the main subject appear
brighter, or reduced to prevent unwanted highlights or reflections.
Flash compensation is shown in tile shooting information display.
Normal flash output can be restored by setting flash cornpensa
tion to +0.0. Flash exposure compensation is not reset when the
camera isturned off.
Flashcompensation car/also be adjusted by pressing the O (_ and
buttons and rotating the command dial until the desired value is shown
in the viewfinder or shooting information display. Theviewfinder display
isillustrated at right.

Flashcompensation can alsobe adjusted from the Custom Settings menu.
