2 Using the Auxiliary Slide Holder
(Fig. 25)
} When a biological slide glass specimen is placed on the U-HLDT-4/U-
HRDT-4 two-slide holder (thick type), the slide holder may interfere with
the objective when the following conditions are combined;
· The objective in use has a short WD (Working Distance);
· The specimen being observed is the specimen placed on the rear
side of the side holder.
If the slide holder contacts the objective, set the provided auxiliary slide
holder @ as shown in the figure and observe only the specimen on the
front side of the slide holder.

U-D7REA, U-D7RES

3 Placing the 35 mm Dish Specimen
(Figs. 26 & 27)
} The dish specimen may sometimes be unable to be focused with the
condenser. To prevent this, remove the stopper screw @ on the mounting
section of the BX3-STAD stage adapter in advance (Fig. 26).
In this case, certain condensers may come in the way of the stage adapter
and stage when the condenser is raised to the upper limit.
1. Remove the slide holder for the slide glass specimen and replace it with
the dish plate 2 provided with the stage adapter.
2. Place a
35 mm dish specimen on the dish plate.
The specimen can be rotated using the rotation lever 3.
· When you switch the objective lens during the dish specimen
observation, separate the dish specimen from the objective lens
far enough.
· When you are using the motorized nosepiece (U-D7REA), set
Ob. Rotation Escape (the rise distance of the objective lens
when switching the objective lens) at the location higher than
the dish specimen by Touch Panel Controller.
