Learning how to use the

camera

Ɣ Press the n button to turn on the camera and

enter the standby mode. (Press the n button

again to turn off the camera.)

Ɣ Select the shooting mode, and press the shutter

button to shoot a still image.

Ɣ To shoot a movie, press the R button.

Ɣ Set the shooting functions using the function

menu or the setup menu.

Ɣ To view images, press the q button to switch to

playback mode.

Ɣ To return to standby mode, press the q button

again, or press the shutter button halfway down

and then release it.

Ɣ Press and hold the q button while the camera is

turned off to start up the camera in the playback

mode.

Ɣ In this case, pressing the q button again sets

the camera to the standby mode.

Shooting still images

Press the n button to turn on

the camera.

Select the shooting mode. (p. 14)

Hold the camera and compose the

shot.

When holding the camera, take care not to cover

the  ash, microphone or other important parts

with your  ngers, etc.

Take care so that the  ash window is not

exposed to  ngerprints or dirt.

Press and hold A button to brighten the monitor

when there is dif culty in seeing the monitor. The

monitor brightness returns to the default setting if

no operations are performed for 10 seconds.
