TCP/UDP Port Close Function
You can close unused FINS/UDP and FINS/TCP ports. This improves security of communications over
the network.
The procedure for closing FINS/UDP port and FINS/TCP port, operation, and timing of the setting to
be applied are as follows.

Select Configurations and Setup - Controller Setup - Built-in EtherNet/IP
Port Settings
from the Multiview Explorer of the Sysmac Studio, and then se-
lect
FINS Settings - FINS/UDP to select the Do not use Option.

FINS/TC
P port
Select Configurations and Setup - Controller Setup - Built-in EtherNet/IP
Port Settings from the Multiview Explorer of the Sysmac Studio, and then se-
lect
FINS Settings - FINS/TCP to select the Do not use Option.
When the setting
is transferred.

Precautions for Correct Use
• If the Do not use option is selected for both of the FINS/UDP and FINS/TCP, the following
restriction will arise.
Any of the Send instruction, Rcv instruction, and SendCmd instruction will result in an error.

If the Do not use option is selected for the FINS/UDP, the following restriction will arise.
The NB-series Programmable Terminals cannot be connected.
