HANDLING CASSETTE TAPES
HANDHABUNG VON CASSETTENBANDERN
AUTOMATIC TAPE SELECTOR FUNCTION
This cassette deck is equipped with an automatic tape selector
function which utilizes the sensor holes on the tape cassette to
determine the type of tape being used. The deck is then set to
match the tape recording bias and equalization.
NOTES:
e@ When using TYPE !V (Metal) tapes, make sure that the tapes
have sensor holes.
Make sure that the sensor holes on the cassette are not blocked;
otherwise the tape selector mechanism will not function properly.
Do not use TYPE Ill (FeCr) tapes.

CLEANING THE HEADS, PINCH ROLLERS
AND CAPSTANS
The heads, pinch rollers and capstans are likely to get dirty quite
easily. If these parts, particularly the heads, get dirty, the high
frequency components of a recording will not be reproduced and
“the
stereo
balance
will
be
impaired,
resulting
in
a
deterioration
of
the
playback
sound.
It
is
therefore
recommended
that
the
head
section
be
cleaned
regularly.
1. Set the POWER switch to STANDBY.
2. Press the eject button to open the cassette door.
3. Dip a cleaning swab in cleaning fluid and use it to wipe the
heads, capstans and pinch rollers.
NOTE:
After cleaning the head section, do not load a tape until the cleaning
fluid has dried completely (about two or three minutes).
AUTOMATISCHE
BANDSORTENERKENNUNG
Dieses Cassettendeck ist mit einem Mechanismus ausgestattet,
der die Bandsorte der jeweiligen Cassette anhand der
Kennungsdffnungen am Cassettengehause erkennt. Das Deck ist
so in der Lage, die passenden Einstellungen fr Vormagnetisierung
und Entzerrung selbsttatig auszufitihren.
ANMERKUNGEN:
e Beim Kauf von Cassetten des Typs |V (Metallband) sollte man
darauf achten, da® die Cassettengehduse mit
Bandkennungséffnungen versehen sind.
e@ Die Bandkennungséffnungen missen immer frei sein, da die
automatische Bandsortenerkennung andernafalls nicht
funktionieren kann.
e@ Von der Verwendung von Cassetten des Typs Ill (FeCr-Band)
wird abgeraten.

REINIGEN DER TOMKOPFE,
ANDRUCKROLLEN UND TONWELLEN
An den Tonkdépfen, Andruckrollen und Tonwellen sammelt sich
leicht Staub und Bandabrieb an. Wenn diese Teile, insbesondere
die Tonképfe, stark verschmutzt sind, kann das Deck hochfrequente
Signalanteile von Aufnahmen nicht mehr voll wiedergeben, wobei
auch die Stereobalance beeintrachtigt wird, so da& eine hdrbare
Verschlechterung der Wiedergabequalitat eintritt. Es wird daher
angeraten, den Tonkopfbereich regelmafig zu reinigen.

driicken,
um
den
Cassettenhalter
zu
ffnen.
3.
Ein
Wattestabchen
in
Reinigungsfliissigkeit
tauchen
und
damit
die Tonképfe,
Andruckroilen
und
Tonwellen
saubern.
ANMERKUNG:
Nach dem Reinigen zunachst warten, bis sich die Reinigungsflus-
sigkeit vollstandig verfliichtigt hat, und erst dann eine Cassette
einlegen. ,
