GEARCASES
TRANSMISSION (MAIN GEARCASE)
Always check and change the transmission oil at the intervals outlined in the
Periodic Maintenance Chart section. Refer to the Gearcase Specifications Chart
for recommended lubricants, capacities and torque specifications. See page 129
for the part numbers of POLARIS products.
OIL CHECK
The fluid check/fill plug is located on the rear of the gearcase. Maintain the oil
level even with the bottom of the plug hole threads.
1. Position the vehicle on a level
surface.
2. Remove the fill plug

3. Check the fluid level.
4. Add the recommended fluid to the
bottom of the fill plug hole. Do not
overfill.
5. Reinstall the fill plug. Torque to
specification.
OIL CHANGE
The drain plug is located near the bottom of the gearcase.
1. Remove the fill plug

2. Place a drain pan under the drain
plug

.
3. Remove the drain plug. Allow the
fluid to drain completely.
4. Clean and reinstall the drain plug.
Torque to specification.
5. Add the recommended fluid to the
bottom of the fill plug hole. Do not
overfill.
6. Reinstall the fill plug. Torque to
specification.
7. Check for leaks. Discard used fluid
properly.
