PROCEDURES
Engine Overheat
If the high temperature indicator light comes on, stop the engine immediately.
Clean the jet pump intake and im-
peller and flush the cooling system.
Check the screen in the pump sta-
tionary nozzle for plugging.
If the engine still overheats take the
watercraft to an authorized Polaris
dealer for immediate service.
Cleaning The Jet Pump
And
Impeller
Never attempt to clean the jet pump
intake and impeller while the engine
is running. Always shut off the en-
gine and remove the lanyard lock
plate from the engine stop switch.
Disconnect the battery cables.
A clogged intake
and/or impeller can
cause overheating
andlor damage
to jet pump and impeller parts.
Operation of the engine with the in-
take system removed could damage
the engine.
Screen
On Land Cleaning
1.
Shut
off
the engine and
remove the watercraft from
the water.
2.
Remove the lanyard lock
plate from the engine stop
switch and disconnect the
battery cables.
3.
Carefully clean the jet pump
intake area. Inspect the
area for damage. If
damaged, take the
watercraft to an authorized
Polaris dealer for service.

Impeller
Whenever possible avoid running the watercraft in weedy areas. If this is unavoid-
able, vary the watercraft speed. Weeds tend to accumulate more rapidly at steady
and trolling speeds.
