Frequenciesemittedfromequipmentsuchasswitchmodepowersupplies
orMF/HFtransmittersetc.cancauseinterferencewithyourdisplay’s
touchscreen.Ifyouexperienceissueswithtouchscreenperformance,fitting
anadditionaldedicatedgroundconnectioncanresolvetheissue.

interferenceisobserved.
Useasmallflatbladescrewdrivertoremovethegroundingscrewholecover .
Connectoneendofthegroundwire(notsupplied)toyourdisplayusingthe
suppliedcrimp,washerandscrew.
Connecttheotherendofthegroundwiretoeitherthevessel'sRFground
point,oronvesselswithoutanRFgroundsystem,thenegativebattery
terminal.
Thedcpowersystemshouldbeeither:
•Negativegrounded,withthenegativebatteryterminalconnectedtothe
vessel'sground;or
•Floating,withneitherbatteryterminalconnectedtothevessel'sground.
Ifseveralitemsrequiregrounding,theymayfirstbeconnectedtoasingle
localpoint(e.g.withinaswitchpanel),withthispointconnectedviaasingle,
appropriately-ratedconductor,tothevessel’scommonRFgroundpoint.
Implementation
Thepreferredminimumrequirementforthepathtogroundisviaaflattinned
copperbraid,witha30Arating(1/4inch)orgreater.Ifthisisnotpossible,an
equivalentstrandedwireconductormaybeused,ratedasfollows:
•forrunsof<1m(3ft),use6mm

(#10AWG)orgreater.
•forrunsof>1m(3ft),use8mm
2
(#8AWG)orgreater.
Inanygroundingsystem,alwayskeepthelengthofconnectingbraidor
wiresasshortaspossible.
