Names of Things and What They Do
REC indicator
This indicator will light red during recording (REC).
It will blink in recording-standby mode (REC
PAUSE).
[ ] button
Press this button to enter recording-standby
mode or to begin recording.
You’ll also use this button to confirm a selection.
INPUT [+] [–] buttons
These buttons adjust the level of the audio
that’s being input via the built-in mics, the MIC
jack, or the LINE IN jack (p. 44).
Pressing [+] will increase the input level.
Pressing [–] will decrease the input level.
VOL [+] [–] buttons
These buttons adjust the volume that is output
from the PHONES jack.
LINE IN jack
If you want the audio output signal from an
audio device or electronic musical instrument to
be input to the R-05, use a stereo mini-plug
cable to make the connection (p. 55).
Use the INPUT[+] [–] buttons to adjust the volume.
MIC jack
Use this if you want to connect an external mic
(p. 52).
