3. When
installing
a
new
drive
belt
or
if the sander
makes
a chattering
noise
under
load
the
driving
belt
will
need
to be
tensioned.
Test
the drive
belt
as
shown,
if the
belt
is
not
tight enough
see
figure
33.
4. To
tension
the
belt
loosen
headed
screw
then
insert
the
the
nut
around
the
allen
allen
wrench
and
tighten.
5.
Test belt
tension
by
placing fingers
on either
side
of
belt
and
squeeze.
There
should
be
about
6mm
give to
the belt.
Tighten
the
nut around
the allen
headed
screw,
this
will lock
the
tension.
NOTE:
EXCESSIVE
TIGHTNESS
ON
PULLEY
BELT
MAY
CAUSE
INCREASED
NOISE
AND
OVEB
LOAD
MOTOR.
EXCESSIVE
LOOSENESS
ON
PULLEY
BELT
MAY
CAUSE
BELT
TO
FAIL
PREMATURELY
AND
MAKE
A
SEVERE
CHATTERING
NOISE.
IINSTALLING
PULLEY
COVER
1.
Locate
the
pulley
cover
and
position
it
inside
the
relief
edges
of
pulleY housing'
2. Using
a
phillips
screwdriver,
reinstall
and
tighten
the
flat
head
screw.
