CYLINDER
HEAD

TIGHTENING
Tighten
the
cylinder
head
bolts
of
a
new
tractor
after
50
hours
ope-
ration.
When
the
old
gasket
has
been
replaced
with
a
new
one,
tighten
the
bolts
to
the
specified
torque.

Bolt
tightening
sequence
is
as
shown
in
the
Fig.
For
even
tightening
of
the
bolts,
the
first
tightening
should
be
half
the
specified
torque
and
then
tighten
it
further
until
the
specified
torque
is
obtained.
NOTE:

After
tightening
the
cylinder
head
bolts,
adjust
the
valve
clearances.

CLEARANCE
ADJUSTMENT

Adjust
the
valve
clearances
when
the
sound
of
the
tapets
is
loud
or
when
the
engine
does
not
run
smoothly
without
anything
abnormal
with
the
fuel
system.
Adjust
the
valve
clearances
by
loosen-
ing
the
lock
nut
(B),
the
adjusting
screw
(A)
using
a
screwdriver
and
then
applying
a
thickness
gauge
to
(C).
When
locking
the
adjusting
screw
by
means
of
the
lock
nut
(B), su
pport
the
adjusting
screw
firmly
using
a screw-
driver
so
that
both
are
not
rotated
together.

0.25
mm
(0.01
inch)
in
cold
