Error Diagnostics
What Does This Chapter Contain?
This chapter will help you to locate, identify, and in some cases eliminate simple
errors and faults.
Error/Fault Remedy
Device LED does not light up
• PG is switched off
• Power supply not properly connected
• Battery run down or not installed
• Press the Power Button
• Check the power supply, power cable, and power
plug
• Charge or install the battery
External monitor remains dark
• LCD enabled is entered in SETUP • Enter CRT enabled or SIMULTANEOUS in SETUP
Message on the Display :”Invalid configuration information... Press the F1 key for continue, F2 to
run Setup utility”
• Configuration data not correct • Hit the “F2” key, check the configuration data in the
SETUP program, if necessary adapt the default
values, check the error messages in the first SE-
TUP menu
Message on the Display ”No boot device available” NTLDR not found, check boot data carrier
• No bootable disk in drive A:
• Wrong hard disk type entered in SETUP
• Replace the disk with a boot disk
• Use the “Autodetect Fixed Disk” function
Message on the Display : ”Keyboard stuck key failure”
• A key became blocked during the self-test of
the keyboard
• Check the keyboard. Restart the system if need be.
Every time a key is pressed, a beep is heard and no characters are displayed
• Keyboard buffer overflow
• <CTRL> <PAUSE>
< \ > key does not exist
• Wrong keyboard driver • German keyboard: <ALTGr> <ß>
• International keyboard : <\> key
After power on: error message: “Battery needs calibration cycle”
• Battery is no longer calibrated • Confirm error message with the “F1” key
• Run a teach-in cycle
