To access the HTML pages on the CP 1616, you require a Web browser.
The following Web browsers are suitable for communication with the CP 1616:
● Internet Explorer (as of version 6.0)
● Mozilla Firefox (as of version 1.5)
● Opera (as of version 9.0)
Web access to the CP 1616 from a PG/PC
To access the Web server, follow these steps:
1. Connect the client (PG, PC) to the CP 1616 via the PROFINET interface.
2. Open the Web browser.
Enter the IP address of the CP 1616 in the "Address" box of the Web browser in the
format http://a.b.c.d (example of an entry: http://192.168.3.141).
The Start page of the CP 1616 opens. From the Start page, you can navigate to the other
information.
A maximum of 5 HTTP connections are possible.
Language settings
Introduction
The Web server supports the following languages:
● German (Germany)
● English (USA)
Requirements for displaying texts in various languages
To ensure that the Web server displays the various languages correctly, you need to make
two language settings in STEP 7:
● Set the language for display devices in the SIMATIC Manager
● Set the language for the Web in the Properties dialog of the CP 1616. You will find more
detailed information in section Settings in HW Config, "Web" tab (Page 42).
