3.7 Programmable parameters
AC-M1 controller has a number of parameters that can be calibrated both using SME
COMPACT display and SME Eyeplus software utility run on a P.C.
These programmable parameters allow the truck’s performance to be customized to fit the
needs of different vehicle applications or individual vehicles.
The programmable parameters are grouped into main categories ( i.e. truck configuration,
battery, motors, system...), and into additional subgroups, each with its own programming
menu.
Most of AC-M1 default settings are fixed by SME software developers according to
customer's needs; even if user opt to leave most of the parameters at their default values,
each parameter can be calibrated inside an allowable range.
It is imperative that user performs the initial set-up procedures outlined in following
section, to adjust some parameters which calibrate your specific system basic
characteristics.
This way user is ensured that the controller is set up to be compatible with his
application.
Do not drive the vehicle until initial set-up has been completed.
For more information about programmable parameters and calibration
procedure, refer to Eyeplus or COMPACT display own manuals.
A complete list of the individual parameters is presented in Appendix B (see page 58).
3.8 Initial set-up
As explained before, most of parameters are initially set to default values (accorded with
customer during AC-M1 prototype phase), but some settings need to be fixed after wiring
system specific control potentiometers.
For these analogue inputs, reading actual value, user has to fix proper voltage operating
range (see Eyeplus or COMPACT display manuals ).
An initial calibration procedure is necessary, before starting operate with your vehicle, in
particular for followings potentiometers:
—
Throttle : pressing and releasing pedal, user has to fix start and stop
acceleration point for drive motor
—
Steering: turning wheel steer, user has to fix maximum clockwise, maximum
anticlockwise and middle position of wheels.
