NOTE
Functional electrical earthing of DC-side negative or positive poles is prohibited
because the inverter has no transformer. Grounding (earth ground) of module
frames and mounting equipment of the PV array modules is acceptable.
NOTE
SolarEdge’s fixed input voltage architecture enables the parallel strings to be of
different lengths. Therefore, they do not need to have the same number of
power optimizers, as long as the length of each string is within the permitted
range.
Connect the DC connectors of each string to the DC+ and DC- connectors. See
Figure 4
.

Connecting the Energy Meter
For Smart Energy Management applications, such as maximizing self-consumption, the
StorEdge solution requires an Energy Meter.
To install the Energy Meter, refer to the installation guide supplied with it:
http://www.solaredge.com/files/pdfs/solaredge-meter-installation-
guide.pdf.
Use a 3-wire shielded twisted pair cable, 0.2 (0.2-1) mm² 600V or CAT5/6.
To connect the Energy Meter to the inverter
1. Connect one end of the communication cable to the Energy Meter, as explained in
the Energy Meter's installation guide.
