STARTS AFTER DELAY. For
the
most accurate
measurement, set
the
B TIME/DIV switch
to
the
fastest sweep
that
provides usable (visible) intensified
zones.
Use
the
DELAY TIME POSITION control
to
move
the
intensified zone
to
the
first pulse (see
Figure 27, A Sweep Display).
3.
Observe
the
B Sweep display and adjust
the
DELAY
TIME POSITION control
to
move
the
rising portion
of
the pulse
to
a vertical reference line (see Figure 27,
B Sweep Display).
4. Record
the
setting
of
the
DELAY TIME POSITION
control dial.
5. Turn
the
DELAY TIME POSITION control clockwise
to
move
the
rising portion
of
the
second pulse
to
the
same vertical reference line. Observe
the
A Sweep
display
to
position
the
intensified zone
to
the
correct
pulse. Do
not
change
the
settings
of
the
horizontal
POSITION controls.
6.
Record
the
setting
of
the
DELAY TIME POSITION
dial.
7. Determine time difference using
the
following
formula:
Time

EXAMPLE: The first dial setting
is
1.31 and
the
second
dial setting
is
8.81 with
the
A TIME/DIV switch set
to
0.2
J.LS
(see Figure 27).
Substituting the given values:
Time Difference= (8.81 - 1.31) (0.2) = 1.5
