7.2 Checking and setting brake shoe stroke
Before bringing into operation for the first time (commissioning) and while
monitoring is active, check the working stroke of the brake shoes.
When opening the brakes, ensure that both brake shoes are operating with
the same stroke.
Setting the brake shoe stroke:
With the solenoid actuated, the air gap between
brake disc and brake lining should be 0.3 mm
(see value cast on the brake shoe)
Actuate brake magnet,
check air gap with feeler gauge.
Correct the setting by turning the adjusting screw
at the brake shoe until the feeler gauge at 0.3 mm
can be pushed through the air gap level with the
cast-in arrow at the brake shoe without resistance.
Secure this setting by tightening the counter nut
and repeat this procedure at the second brake
shoe.

Important: After adjusting the brake, the deceleration must be checked and
the test switch inspected or readjusted.
