Pre–startingChecks
Safeoperationbeginsbeforetakingthevehicleoutfor
aday’swork.Youshouldchecktheseitemseachtime:
Checktirepressure.
Note:Thesetiresaredifferentthancartires,they
requirelesspressuretominimizeturfcompaction
anddamage.
Checkalluidlevelsandaddtheappropriate
amountofTorospecieduids,ifanyarefound
tobelow .
Checkthefrontoftheradiator.Removeanydebris
andcleantheradiatorscreen.
Checkbrakepedaloperation.
Checktoseethatthelightsandhornareworking.
Turnsteeringwheeltotheleftandrighttocheck
steeringresponse.
Checkforoilleaks,loosepartsandanyother
noticeablemalfunctions.Makesureengineisoff
andallmovingpartshavestoppedbeforechecking
foroilleaks,loosepartsandothermalfunctions.
Ifanyoftheaboveitemsarenotcorrect,notifyyour
mechanicorcheckwithyoursupervisorbeforetaking
thevehicleoutfortheday.Yoursupervisormaywant
youtocheckotheritemsonadailybasis,soaskwhat
yourresponsibilitiesare.
StartingEngine
1.Sitonoperator’sseatandengageparkingbrake.
2.DisengagePTO(ifsoequipped)andreturnhand
throttlelevertoOFFposition(ifsoequipped).
3.MoveshiftlevertoNEUTRALpositionand
depressclutchpedal.
4.Makesurethehydraulicliftleverisinthecenter
position.
5.Keepfootoffacceleratorpedal.
Inextremelycoldweather(below0degreesF)
fullydepressandreleasetheacceleratorpedal
severaltimesbeforetryingtostartengine.
