Using the Side Discharge
The mower has a hinged grass deector that
disperses clippings to the side and down toward the
turf.
DANGER
W ithout a grass deector , discharge cover , or
a complete grass-catcher assembly mounted
in place, you and others are exposed to blade
contact and thrown debris. Contact with
rotating mower blade(s) and thrown debris
will cause injury or death.
• Never remove the grass deector from the
mower deck because the grass deector
routes material down toward the turf. If the
grass deector is ever damaged, replace it
immediately .
• Never put your hands or feet under the
mower deck.
• Never try to clear the discharge area
or mower blades unless you move the
blade-control switch (PT O) to the O FF
position, rotate the key switch to the O FF
position, and remove the key from the key
switch.
• Make sure that the grass deector is in the
down position.
Adjusting the Height of Cut
Note: The transport position is the highest
height-of-cut position or cutting height at 1 14 mm
(4-1/2 inches) as shown in Figure 28 .
Y ou can adjust the height of cut from 38 to 1 14 mm
(1-1/2 to 4-1/2 inches) in 13 mm (1/2 inch) increments.
The height of cut is controlled by the lever located to
the right of the operating position ( Figure 28 ).
