motioncontrolsoutwardtotheneutralposition,
engageparkingbrake,stoptheengine,andremove
thekey.
2.Removegrassclippings,dirt,andgrimefromthe
externalpartsoftheentiremachine,especiallythe
engine.Cleandirtandchafffromtheoutsideofthe
enginecylinderheadnsandblowerhousing.
Important:Youcanwashthemachinewith
milddetergentandwater.DoNotpressure
washthemachine.Avoidexcessiveuseof
water,especiallynearthecontrolpanel,engine,
hydraulicpumps,andmotors.
3.Servicetheaircleaner;refertotheServicingtheAir
CleanersectioninEngineMaintenance.
4.Greaseandoilthemachine;refertotheLubrication
section.
5.Changethecrankcaseoilandlter;referto
theServicingtheEngineOilsectioninEngine
Maintenance.
6.Checkthetirepressure;refertotheCheckingthe
TirePressuresectioninDriveSystemMaintenance.
7.Chargethebattery;refertotheServicingtheBattery
sectioninElectricalSystemMaintenance.
8.Checktheconditionoftheblades;refertoServicing
theCuttingBladesinMowerMaintenance.
9.Preparethemachineforstoragewhennon-use
occursover30days.Preparethemachineforstorage
asfollows.
A.Addapetroleumbasedstabilizer/conditioner
tothefuelinthetank.Followthemixing
instructionsfromthestabilizermanufacturer.
DoNotuseanalcoholbasedstabilizer(ethanol
ormethanol).
Note:Afuelstabilizer/conditionerismost
effectivewhenmixedwithfreshgasolineand
usedatalltimes.
B.Runtheenginetodistributetheconditionedfuel
throughthefuelsystem(5minutes).
C.Stoptheengine,allowittocool,anddrainthe
fueltank;refertotheDrainingtheFuelTankin
FuelSystemMaintenance.
D.Restarttheengineandrunituntilitstops.

10.Removethesparkplug(s)andcheckitscondition;
refertotheServicingtheSparkPlugsectionin
EngineMaintenance.Withthesparkplug(s)
removedfromtheengine,pourtwotablespoonsof
engineoilintothesparkplughole.Usethestarter
tocranktheengineanddistributetheoilinsidethe
cylinder.Installthesparkplug(s).DoNotinstallthe
wireonthesparkplug(s).
11.Cleananydirtandchafffromthetopofthemower.
12.Scrapeanyheavybuildupofgrassanddirtfromthe
undersideofthemower,thenwashthemowerwith
agardenhose.
13.Checktheconditionofthedriveandmowerbelts.
14.Checkandtightenallbolts,nuts,andscrews.Repair
orreplaceanypartthatiswornordamaged.
15.Paintallscratchedorbaremetalsurfaces.Paintis
availablefromyourAuthorizedServiceDealer.
16.Storethemachineinaclean,drygarageorstorage
area.Removethekeyfromtheignitionswitchand
keepitinamemorableplace.Coverthemachineto
protectitandkeepitclean.
