Driving
Regeneration
Regeneration is performed as necessary in accordance with driving
conditions.
System characteristics
The DPF system has the following characteristics:
Idle speed increases during regeneration
The smell of the exhaust gas differs from that of a conventional
diesel vehicle
The amount of accumulated deposit in the DPF system can be con-
firmed from the DPF deposition monitor.
The DPF system warning light will flash before the accumulated deposit is
full.
If the DPF system warning light flashes for more than 10 seconds continu-
ously, use the DPF system switch to regenerate the filter. (P. 164)

When the DPF filter has filled with deposits, the malfunction indicator lamp
will illuminate and the DPF system warning light will turn off. (P. 166)
DPF (Diesel Particulate Filter) system
: If equipped
When the deposit collected by the filter reaches a predetermined
amount, it is automatically regenerated.
