7.2. MENU NAVIGATION
NOTE: depending on whether an amplifier type has been chosen or not, the menu structure
changes. See menu tree for detail.
Press MODE key to select HPA. The HPA main STATUS screen will be displayed, for example

With reference to the menu tree, press MENU key, the following screen will be displayed –

7.2.1 CONFIGURATION
By using the up / down arrow keys, highlight CONFIGURATION and press ENTER key.
This screen will be displayed: -

HPA Type:
HPA A Addr:
HPA B Addr
HPA Ctrl:
Type: By highlighting and pressing ENTER followed by the up / down arrow keys to select
one of list of available HPA / SSPA types, communication will be enabled to an externally
connected amplifier.
When set to NONE communication is disabled.
HPA A (B) Addr: This shows the current address(es) detected for the connected amplifiers.
This is a ‘read only’ menu option.
HPA Ctrl: This menu option defines how the HPA control is connected to the DVE5000.
When set to ‘RS485’, this is the direct connection at the rear panel of the unit. Pin-out
definition can be found earlier in this manual.
When set to ‘L-Band’, a modulated FSK carrier is added to the L-band RF output of the
DVE5000. The modulated signal can be decoded by AUC5000, Exos and AUC5814 block
up-converter products from Advent.
WARNING! 17V DC is applied to the L-Band RF output connector when in L-band control
mode.
