corresponding position and stays there as long as the voltage remains at +3 VDC.
When recalling presets in this mode, the lens (servomotor) is sent the voltage that is
stored for that preset. The movement speed of the lens motors is a function of the
ramp speed.
Speed mode
The other servomotor mode is speed mode. In this mode, the lens moves when the
voltage moves from the center point of its range. The farther the voltage moves
away from the center point, the faster the lens motor moves. When recalling a
preset in this mode, the lens must have potentiometer (POT) outputs. These outputs
are sent to the AXB-F117, and when that level matches the level stored in the
preset, the lens voltage returns to the center point.
Motor Mode
Motor mode is used when the lens requires the motors to be directly driven from an
external source. The standard voltage ranges are
± 6 VDC or ± 12VDC with a center
(no motion) of 0 VDC. Unlike the servomotor lenses, these lenses only operate in
speed mode. In this mode, the lens moves when the voltage is moved from the
center point of its range. The farther the voltage moves away from the center point,
the faster the lens motor moves. When recalling a preset in this mode, the lens must
have POT outputs. These outputs are sent to the AXB-F117, and when that level
matches the level stored in the preset, the lens returns to the center point. Motor-
mode lenses that do not have POT outputs do not have preset recall capability.
Note
The acceleration ramp
feature allows the pan/tilt
motors to ramp to the desired
operational speed, resulting in
smoother motion. This
feature also reduces stress
and undesirable vibration of
