5 Maintenance
Proper maintenance is the best way to ensure safe,
economical and trouble-free operation. It also
contributes to environmental protection.
Maintenance should only be carried out by qualified
personnel using the appropriate personal protective
equipment. Always use original spares, as the use of
non-original parts may cause damage to the generator
set.
The most important points of generator set inspection
and lubrication are indicated in the schedules below.
Shut down the engine and let it cool
down for 15 minutes prior to
carrying out any maintenance task.
Disconnect the generator set from
the loads.
Disconnect the battery; first the
negative pole and then the positive.
Make sure that no electrical power is
present on the terminals.
