MAINTENANCE
S An annual “checkup” is recommended by a qualified
refrigeration mechanic.
S Recording the performance measurements of volts, amps, and
water temperature differences (both heating and cooling) is
recommended. This data should be compared to the information
on the unit’s data plate and the data taken at the original start--up
of the equipment.
S Periodic lockouts are commonly caused by water flow problems.
The lockout (shutdown) of the unit is a normal protective
measure in the design of the equipment. If continual lockouts
occur, call a mechanic immediately and have them check for the
following:
-- Water flow problems
-- Water temperature problems
Unit capacity and water flow charts should be used for system
checks. Refer to Table 11..
S Following the recommendations in Table 1, along with adequate
water flow rates, will greatly decrease the rate of fouling/scaling
of the coaxial heat exchanger . A diluted acid type cleaning
process can be performed, but must be done per the chemical
manufacturer’s directions. Only use chemicals approved for
copper and cupronickel by the chemical manufacturer.
