Quick Start Basics
Be sure to attach the lens cap and strap to the camera before using it.
. Attaching the Lens Cap
Always keep the lens cap on the
lens whenever you are not using
the camera. Always leave the lens
cap on the lens when the camera is
turned off and the lens is retracted.
Attach the lens cap holder to the
strap or the strap ring. This
protects against accidental loss
of the lens cap.
Never turn on camera power with
the lens cap affixed to the lens.
. Attaching the strap
Use one of the following battery types.
Four AA-size alkaline batteries: LR6
Recommended
Panasonic LR6 (Panasonic Corporation)
DURACELL ULTRA (MX1500) (DURACELL, div of P&G Inc.)
Four AA-size rechargeable Ni-MH (nickel-metal hydride) batteries: HR6
Recommended
SANYO eneloop (SANYO Electric Co., Ltd.)
DURACELL RECHARGEABLE (DURACELL, div of P&G Inc.)
ENERGIZER RECHARGEABLE (Energizer Holdings, Inc.)
* Proper operation cannot be guaranteed if you use any battery type other than those
specified above.
Attaching the Lens Cap and Strap
Attach either end of the strap to the two strap rings on the
sides of the camera as shown in the illustration.
After you are finished pull on the strap to test it and to
make sure it does not come loose.
To load the batteries
Cap holder
Large loop
Small loop
Lens cap
