DETAILED STEPS

Enables privileged EXEC mode.enable

Router> enable
Enter your password if prompted.
Enters global configuration mode.configure terminal

Router# configure terminal

(Optional) Sets the maximum number of accounting entries
to be created.
ip accounting-threshold threshold
Example:
Router(config)# ip accounting-threshold 500
Step 3
(Optional) Filters accounting information for hosts.
ip accounting-list ip-address wildcard
Example:
Router(config)# ip accounting-list 192.31.0.0
0.0.255.255
Step 4
(Optional) Controls the number of transit records that will be
stored in the IP accounting database.
ip accounting-transits count
Example:
Router(config)# ip accounting-transits 100
Step 5
Specifies the interface and enters interface configuration mode.
interface type number
