ImmediatelyPriortoStorage,PerformtheFollowingSteps
1.Unloadthevehiclesothattiresaresupportingonlytheweightofthevehicle.
2.TurnthekeyswitchtotheOFFposition,removethekey,andleavetheForward/ReverseswitchintheNEUTRAL
positionduringstorage.
3.Ifsoinstalled,turnoffallaccessories,includingGPSunits,fans,etc.
4.PlacetheT ow/RunswitchintheTOWposition.
NOTE:Allfunctionsofthedash-mountedchargeindicatorlightaredisabledwhentheTow/Runswitchisinthe
TOWposition.
IfVisageorGuardianunitsareinstalledonvehiclesandremotemonitoringwillbeusedduringthestorage
period,makesuretheTow/RunswitchremainsintheRUNpositionratherthanintheTOWpositionrequired
forallothervehiclesduringstorage.
5.Batteriesshouldbecleanandfreeofcorrosion.Washtopsandterminalsofbatterieswithasolutionofbaking
sodaandwater;use1cup(237mL)bakingsodaper1gallon(3.8L)ofwater.Rinsesolutionoffbatteries.Do
notallowthissolutiontoenterthebatteries.LettheterminalsdryandthencoatthemwithBatteryT erminal
ProtectorSpray.
6.Tightenallbatterycableconnectionsto110in·lb(12.4N·m).
7.Storevehicleinacool,dryplace.Thiswillminimizebatteryself-discharge.
8.Adjusttirestorecommendedtirepressure.
9.Performsemiannualperiodiclubrication.
10.Thoroughlycleanfrontbody,rearbody,seats,batterycompartment,andundersideofvehicle.
11.Donotengagetheparkbrake.Chockthewheelstopreventthevehiclefromrolling.
NOTE:Itisrecommendedthatthevehiclesbepluggedinandtheelectrolytelevelmaintainedthroughoutthestorage
period.Ifanyofthefollowingconditionsexist,however,thendisconnectthebatteriesforstorage:1)The
chargercannotremainpluggedin,2)ACpowerwillnotbeavailableduringextendedstorage,or3)Electrolyte
levelswillnotbemaintained.Todisconnectbatteriesforstorage,gotostep13.
12.T okeepbatteriesfullychargedduringstorage:
12.1.Plugthebatterychargerintothecar.Leavebatterychargerspluggedinduringstorage.Thechargerwill
automaticallyactivatewhennecessary.
12.2.Checktheelectrolytelevelandchargerfunctionmonthlytoensurethatproperoperationismaintained.The
chargerisfunctioningproperlyifthebluelightisONandthetriangularlightisOFF.
CAUTION
•Besuretocheckthebatteriesandchargermonthlytomaintaincorrectbatterywaterlevelandto
ensurethechargerisoperatingcorrectlyduringstorage.
13.Ifdisconnectingthebatteriesforstorage,disconnectBnegative(-)batterycableandsecureitinawaythat
ensuresthecablewillnotcomeintocontactwithbatteryterminal.
