TROUBLE SHOOTING -- MOTOR (Continued)
TROUBLE PROBABLE CAUSE
Motor starts slowly
or fails to come up
to full speed.
Motor overheats.
Starting relay in
motor will not
operate.
Motor stalls
(resulting in blown
fuses or tripped
circu it breakers).
Frequent opening of
fusesor circuit
breakers.
1. Low voltage will not
trip relay.
2. Windings burned out
or open.
3. Starting relay not
operating.
1. Motor overloaded.
2. Improper cooling. (Air
circulation restricted
through motor due to
sawdust, accumulating
inside of saw).
1. Burned relay contacts
(due to extended
hold-in periodscaused
by low line voltage, etc.)
2. Shorted capacitor
(when equipped)
3. Loose or broken
connections.
I. Starting relay not
operating.
2. Voltage too low to permit
motor to reach operating
speed.
3. Fusesor circuit breakers
do not have sufficient
capacity.

REMEDY
1. Request voltage check from the power company.
2. Have motor repaired or replaced.
3. Have relay replaced.
1. Feed work slower into blade.
2. Clean out sawdust to provide normal air
circulation through motor.
