Moving The Tractor Manually
Yourtractor'stransmissionis equippedwitha hydrostaticreliefvalve
foroccasionswhenitis necessarytomovethetractormanually.Open-
ingthisvalvepermitsthe fluidin thetransmissionto bypassits normal
route,allowingthereartiresto "freewheel."Toopenthehydrostatic
reliefvalve,proceedasfollows:
1. Locatethehydrostaticbypassrodinthe rearofthetractor.See
Figure1.
Shipping Brace Removal
Makesurethelawntractor'sengineisoff, setthe parkingbrakeand
removethe ignitionkeybeforeremovingthe shippingbrace.
1. Locatethe shippingbrace,if present,andwarningtag foundon
the rightsideofthecuttingdeck.SeeFigure2.

2. Pullthe hydrostaticbypassrodoutward,then down,tolockit in
place.
NOTE:ThetransmissionwillNOTengagewhenthe hydrostatic
bypassrodis pulledout. Returnthe rodto itsnormalpositionpriorto
operatingthetractor.

Whileholdingthedischargechutecoverwithyourleft hand,
removethe shippingbracewithyourright handbygraspingit
betweenyourthumband indexfingerand rotatingit clockwise.
Theshippingbraceis usedfor packagingpurposesonly.Remove
anddiscardthe shippingbracebeforeoperatingyourlawntractor.
Neverattemptto movethetractormanuallywithoutfirstopeningthe
hydrostaticreliefvalve.Doingsowill resultinseriousdamageto the
tractor'stransmission.
Themowingdeckis capableofthrowingobjects.Operatingthe riding
mowerwithoutthedischargecoverin theproperoperatingposition
couldresultin seriouspersonalinjuryand/orpropertydamage.
