USING THE DECK LIFT LEVER
Toraisethecuttingdeck,movethe decklift levertothe left,then place
itin the notchbestsuitedforyourapplication.RefertoSettingThe
CuttingHeightearlierinthis Operationsection.
MOWING
Tohelpavoidbladecontactor a thrownobjectinjury,keepbystand-
ers,helpers,childrenandpetsatleast75feetfromthemachine
whileitis inoperation.Stopmachineifanyoneentersthearea.
Thefollowinginformationwillbehelpfulwhenusingthe cuttingdeck
withyourtractor:
Planyourmowingpatterntoavoiddischargeof materialstoward
roads,sidewalks,bystandersandthelike.Also,avoiddischarging
materialagainsta wallor obstructionwhichmaycausedischarged
materialto ricochetbacktowardtheoperator.
HEADLIGHTS
• The lampsare ONwheneverthe tractor'sengineis running.
• The lampsturn OFFwhentheignitionkeyis movedtothe STOP
position.
• Donot mowathighgroundspeed,especiallyifa mulchkitor
grasscollectorisinstalled.
• Forbestresultsit is recommendedthatthe firsttwolapsbecut
withthedischargethrowntowardsthecenter.Afterthefirst two
laps,reversethedirectiontothrowthe dischargeto theoutside
forthe balanceof cutting.Thiswillgivea betterappearanceto the
lawn.
• Donotcut thegrasstoo short.Shortgrassinvitesweedgrowth
andyellowsquicklyindryweather.
• Mowingshouldalwaysbedonewiththeengineat full throttle.
• Underheavierconditionsitmaybenecessarytogo backoverthe
cutareaa secondtimetogeta cleancut.
• DoNOTattemptto mowheavybrushandweedsandextremely
tallgrass.Yourtractoris designedto mowlawns,NOTclear
brush.
• Keepthebladessharpandreplacethe bladeswhenworn.Refer
toCuttingBladesin the Servicesectionof this manualforproper
bladesharpeninginstructions.
