ParkingBrakeLever
Tosettheparkingbrake:Fullydepressthebrakepedal.Movethe
parkingbrakeleverintotheparkingbrakeposition.Releasethe
brakepedalto allowtheparkingbraketo engage.
Toreleasetheparkingbrake:Depressthebrakepedalandmove
theparkingbrakeleveroutofthe ONpositionandintotheOFF
position.Theparkingbrakewill thenbereleased.Releasethe
brakepedal.
NOTE:Theparkingbrakemustbesetiftheoperatorleavestheseat
with theenginerunningortheenginewill automaticallyshutoff.
Throttle/chokeControlLever

SLOW
Thethrottle/chokecontrolleveris locatedonthe
leftsideof thetractor'sdashpanel.Thislever
controlsthespeedoftheengineandwhenpushed
allthewayforward,thechokecontrolalso.When
setinagivenposition,thethrottle will maintaina
uniformenginespeed.
IMPORTANT:Whenoperating the tractor with the cutting
deck engaged, the throttle/choke control lever must
always be in the FAST (rabbit) position.
Ignition Switch Module
Tostarttheengine,insertthekeyintotheignitionswitchandturn
clockwiseto theSTARTposition.ReleasethekeyintotheNORMAL
MOWINGMODEpositiononcetheenginehasfired.
Tostoptheengine,turn theignitionkeycounterclockwiseto the
STOPposition.
IM PORTANT: Priortooperatingthe
tractor,referto boththe"SafetyInterlock
System"and"StartingTheEngine"laterinthis
sectionofthis manualfor detailedinstructions
regardingtheIgnitionSwitchModule.
Neverleavea runningmachineunattended.AlwaysdisengagePTO(Blade
EngageLever),moveshiftleverintoneutralposition, set parking brake,
stopengineand removekeyto preventunintendedstarting.
SeatAdjustmentLever
Theseatadjustmentleverislocatedbelowthefront/left oftheseat.Thelever
allowsforadjustmentoftheforeandaft positionoftheseat.Referto theAssembly
sectionof themanualformoredetailedinstructionsforadjustingtheseatposition.
Auto-drivepedal
Thedrivepedalislocatedontheright sideof thetractor,alongtherunningboard.
Depressthedrivepedalforwardandthetractorwill moveinthedirectionthatthe
shiftleverisengagedin.Tocausethetractorto travelforward,whileata complete
stop,movetheshiftleverintotheForwardposition.Graduallysteponthedrive
pedalandthetractorwill begintomoveforward.TomoveinReverse,follow the
sameprocedureonlymovetheshiftleverintothereverseposition.
Thegroundspeediscontrolledwith thedrivepedal.Thefurtherforwardthat the
pedalispivoted,thefasterthetractorwill travel.Thepedalwill returntoitsoriginal
positionwhenit'snotdepressed.RefertotheOperationsectionofthis manualfor
detailedinstructionsregardingthe drivepedal.
IMPORTAflT:Always set the parking brake when leaving the tractor
unattended.
DeckLiftLever
Foundonyourtractor'srightfender,thedecklift leverisusedto
changetheheightof thecuttingdeck.Touse,movethelevertothe
left, thenplaceinthenotchbestsuitedfor yourapplication.
PTO(Blade Engage)Lever
Foundonthetractor'srightfender,thePTO(bladeengage)lever
isusedto engagepowertothecuttingdeckorother(separately
available)attachments.Tooperate,movetheleveralltheway
forward.Movingthe leverallthewayrearwardintothe PTOOFF
positiondisengagespowerto thecutting deck/attachment.
flOTE:The PTO (blade engage) lever must be in the
disengaged (PTO OFF) position when starting the engine.
CupHolder
Thetractor'scupholderislocatedonthefendertothe left of theseat.
Shift Lever
Theshift leverislocatedontheleft side
ofthefenderandhasthreepositions,
FORWARD,NEUTRALandREVERSE.The
brakepedalmustbedepressedandthe
tractormustnotbeinmotionwhenthe
movingshift lever.
IMPORTANT:Neverforcetheshift lever.
Doingsomayresultinseriousdamageto
thetractor'stransmission.
BrakePedal
REVERSE
Thebrakepedalislocatedontheleftsideofthelawntractor,alongtherunning
board.Depressthebrakepedalto engagethediscbrakeandbringthetractortoa
completestop.
NOTE:Thepedalmustbedepressedtostart theengine.RefertoSafetyInterlock
Switcheslaterin thissectionof thismanual.
