EN 55011: Threshold values and measuring methods for
radio interference from industrial, scientific and
medical (ISM) high-frequency equipment.

Class B: Equipment used in areas with a public supply
network (dwellings, commerce and light indus-
tries). Unrestricted distribution.
EMC Immunity
In order to document immunity against electrical inter-
ference from electrical phenomena, the following im-
munity tests have been made on a system consisting
of a frequency converter (with options, if relevant), a
screened control cable and a control box with potenti-
ometer, motor cable, and motor.
The tests were performed in accordance with the fol-
lowing basic standards:
EN 61000-4-2 (IEC 61000-4-2): Electrostat-
ic discharges (ESD)Simulation of electro-
static discharges from human beings.
EN 61000-4-3 (IEC 61000-4-3): Incoming
electromagnetic field radiation, amplitude
modulatedSimulation of the effects of radar
and radio communication equipment as well
as mobile communications.
EN 61000-4-4 (IEC 61000-4-4): Burst tran-
sients Simulation of interference brought
about by switching with a contactor, relays or
similar devices.
EN 61000-4-5 (IEC 61000-4-5): Surge tran-
sients Simulation of transients brouht e.g. by
lightning that strikes near installations.
VDE 0160 class W2 test pulse: Mains tran-
sients Simulation of high-energy transients
brought about by main fuse breakage,
switching of power factor correction capaci-
tors, etc.
EN 61000-4-6 (IEC 61000-4-6): RF Com-
mon mode Simulation of the effect from ra-
dio-transmitting equipment connected to
connection cables.
