Overview
4.6 External devices
The Isolette 8000 plus has a serial port (A) that provides an isolated communication
link between the incubator and an external device, such as, a central monitoring
system or a patient monitor. The serial port has 2 communication options, serial
data, or MEDIBUS.X. The port is located underneath the incubator shell on the front
of the device.
WARNING
Risk of death or serious injury
Noncompliance may result in death or serious injury.
Devices connecting to the serial port must be compliant with IEC60601-1-2, the
EMC requirement for medical devices, and IEC60601-1.
WARNING
Risk of electric shock
The potential for electrical shock exists with electrical equipment.
Connect external devices to the interfaces only while the incubator is properly
grounded. Grounding can be achieved by its power cable and a grounded wall
terminal unit, or by the grounding pin on the rear of the control unit.
