Operating the DS-5300B
Field Replaceable Units (FRUs)
You can replace the power supplies and fan assemblies on site
without the use of special tools. The power supplies and fan
assemblies are keyed to ensure correct orientation during installation.
Installation instructions are provided with all replacement units.
The DS-5300B has two power cords. You must disconnect both
power cords before servicing.
Power supplies
The two power supplies are hot-swappable. They are identical and fit
into either power supply slot.
Fabric OS identifies the power supplies as follows (viewing the
switch from the nonport side):
◆ Power supply 1 on the right
◆ Power supply 2 on the left
Use any of the following methods to determine if you need to replace
a power supply:
◆ Check the power supply status LED next to the On/Off switch
(see “LEDs on the non-port side of the switch” on page 38)
◆ Enter the psShow command at the prompt to display power
supply status as shown below:
