System board and components
Note on network settings recovery
I When replacing network controllers or the system board, network
configuration settings in the operating system will be lost and replaced
by default values. This applies to all static IP address and LAN teaming
configurations.
Ensure to note down your current network settings before replacing a
network controller or the system board.

Ê Disconnect all external cables.

Ê Remove the corresponding HDD fan: "Fans" on page 163
Ê Remove the following components from the system board:
– Heat sink: "Removing the heat sink variant 1" on page 219 or "Removing
the heat sink variant 2" on page 220.
I Leave the CPU on the defective board for now.
– Memory modules: "Removing a memory module" on page 213
I Ensure to take note of the memory modules’ mounting positions
for reassembly.
– Expansion cards: see section "Removing expansion cards" on page 187
I Ensure to take note of the controllers’ mounting positions and
cable connections for reassembly.
– M.2 SSD (if applicable): see section "Removing the M.2 SSD" on
page 292
– Dual microSD 64 GB Enterprise (if applicable): see section "Removing
