Basic Operation & Riding
Starting & Stopping the Engine
Normal Air Temperature.

If the engine f ails to restart:

Extended use of the choke may impair piston
and cylinder wall lubrication and damage the
engine.
High Air Temperature
35°C (95°F) or above
Do not use the choke.
Keep the throttle fully closed.
Start the engine following step under
Pull the starter decompressor lever (page )
in, open the throttle fully, and operate the
kickstarter several times while pressing the
engine stop button to clear the engine.
Release the starter decompressor lever.
Low Air Temperature
10°C (50°F) or below
Follow steps under
Start the engine (see step 3 under
).
Warm up the engine by opening and closing
the throttle slightly.
Continue warming up the engine until it runs
smoothly and responds to the throttle when
the choke lever ( ) is pushed down all the
waytofullyOFF( ).
