4. INSPECTION
• CAM HEIGHT
1) Clean the camshaft and check the cam surface for wear or
damage.
2) Measure the cam height.
• CAMSHAFT JOURNAL I.D.
1) Tighten each cam holder to the specified torque with the
eight 6 x 70 mm flange bolts and the two 6 x 35 mm flange
bolts (P. 9-14).
2) Measure the I.D. of each cylinder head journal.
• CAMSHAFT JOURNAL O.D.
1) Clean the camshaft and check the journals for wear or
damage.
2) Measure the O.D. of each camshaft journal.
3) If the measurement is less than the service limit, replace
the camshaft with a new one.
