Complex Numbers
To distinguish complex numbers from real numbers, the keys 6
and º? facilitate entry of a complex number in one of
three forms: xiy, rθa, and x+yi. The form in which a complex
number is displayed is controlled by choosing zÞ,
menu options 9, 10 or 11. Option 9 is the xiy form. Option 10 is
the rθa form. Option 11 is the x+yi form and is only available in
Figure 8
To display values entered as fractions use the Fraction Display
ºÉ.
Figure 9
If values are displayed as decimal values, pressing ºÉ
changes the display view to show fractions. Pressing it again
changes the display back to decimal values. More exact
control of the fraction display is possible using the ¹Ê
function.
